Our little Caterpillar!

After months of planning, Brenton's Very Hungry Caterpillar 1st Birthday Party went off without a hitch! I absolutely LOVE planning children's parties.  We had the best day filled with family and friends.  This momma did the best she could to pay attention to every detail of our favorite Eric Carle book.  Thank you so much to everyone for making this a perfect day that will never be forgotten!

Caterpillar representing each month of Brenton's first year.  When the party was over I took this down and made it into a keepsake book.  It's so fun to flip through and watch him grow.

Party favors for the kids - and big kids! All of the wall art came from my teaching days -- I was excited to have a reason to use them again!!

My best friend Rachel made these incredible cupcakes for the party. She is a brilliant baker - we had SO many compliments on how tasty these little guys were!

Each food from The Very Hungry Caterpillar was represented and labeled.  My amazing husband went on a late night run to Toys R Us to find the candy icecream cones so that even THEY were represented!

Brenton loved the idea of having his own cake! Just like on his actual birthday, he remained serious the ENTIRE time.

Brenton had such a fun day! He thoroughly enjoyed himself and all of his super fun new toys! Thank you again to all of our sweet friends and family for all they did in making his day such a special memory.  We are truly blessed to have each and every one of you in our lives!

Love love love our sweet Brenton Fain!

Happy Birthday, Sweet Brenton!!

It's hard to believe that one whole year has already passed. Our sweet baby boy turned ONE today! What a blessing he has been to our family.  We had a small get together for dinner and cake with Grandma, Bob, Uncle Matty, and the girls next door came over too! Looking forward to his big celebration on Sunday!!

Brenton was very serious the whole time! Our little boy that laughs and smiles at everything took cake eating very seriously.  Too funny!

Sweet Little Voices

Melt. My. Heart.

Thankful.

During the month of November people typically post one thing a day that they are thankful for on facebook.  I think this is a great tradition...but I can't seem to get my act together to participate on a daily basis.  I have so much in my life to be thankful for that the month of November is nowhere near long enough to list them all! I have been so blessed by my family and friends. I have the most amazing husband in the world.  I hear the words "good morning, mommy!!" every single day and I'm greeted by laughter and smiles from my precious children.  Today, and everyday, I am so thankful for this amazing life.

Rockin' The Vote!

Today Brenton and Mommy set out to do our civic duty and VOTE! Brenton was such a good boy as I filled out 3 giant voting pages.  Today I am thankful that - no matter the outcome of this election - we live in a country where we are given the freedom to choose.  God Bless America!

Trick or Treat!

Halloween was even more fun that I could have imagined this year.  Braxton practiced saying "trick or treat!" for weeks before the big day.  All the practice certainly paid off - he was amazed that those simple words filled his bucket with more candy than he had ever dreamed!

Even though it was last day of the month, Daddy came home at 5:30 so that we could go trick or treating as a family.  Grandma and Bob came over to see the boys and hand out candy while we were walking the neighborhood.

Here is the crew getting ready to head out

Braxton was SO excited to begin!

Sweet Brenton enjoyed all the festivities, too! He loved seeing all the costumes!

We met up with the girls next door.  Braxton loves these girls to pieces.  He had so much fun walking with them!

Even crazy Daddy joined in on the fun!

Uncle Matty surprised the boys and joined us along the way! The boys were so excited to see him.  They sure love their Uncle!

Trick or Treat!!!

Checking out his loot!

Pirate Brenton

Candy is so much sweeter when you share it with a friend!

Happy Halloween, Everyone!!

Love,

Happy Honda Halloween!

Wednesday was Mike's work costume contest. We had such a fun time seeing everyone in their awesome costumes. The Speigl's had the best time dressing up as pirates! It helped set the mood for the trick or treating that would come later in the night!

Welcome....It's about time!

After 1,006 days (the number of days since our sweet Braxton was born) of saying that I should start a blog....I finally did! Hoping that I will continue to update the happenings of the Speigl family so that those near and far can keep up with our weekly shenanigans. Enjoy!
