It's soccer day!!

Braxton wearing his awesome Brooklyn Nets adidas track suit that Atiba sent him. He looks so grown up when he wears things like this.  Can't believe my little boy is almost 3!

Laughing brothers! Sometimes they just look at each other and laugh. I love it!

Being his happy little self!

Walking!!!

January 21, 2013

Today was MLK day so my mom was off work.  Mike is still out of town so I got the boys up, fed and dressed and took Braxton into school. Then Brenton and I headed to Bradenton to address envelops for the big 60th Anniversary celebration.  While Braxton was waiting for me to put on his shoes he said "mommy! Brenton wants to sit by me on the couch! Please put Booboos on the couch with me!" Sweet brothers!!

We sent this picture to Mike with a good morning greeting.  So happy he will be home tomorrow! We miss him!

Hanging out at grandma's house

Getting more and more brave every single day! He will be running soon! Eek!

I didn't get many pictures today :( This afternoon I left Brenton at my mom's house and drove to pick up Braxton from school.  We came right back to Bradenton and met up with mom and Bob for dinner at Geckos.  The boys were absolutely perfect at dinner.  We even had people come to the table to tell us how well behaved they were.  I'm so proud to be their mommy.  They do have their moments - but they certainly are sweet, well behaved boys :)

Sunday Funday! Mike had to go to Ohio this morning for some meetings.  So it's just the boys and I til Tuesday.  We started the morning out with some snuggles :)

Hi Baby!

Then we headed down to Bradenton to see Grandma, Bob, Great Grandma, Great Grandpa and Uncle Matty. Braxton loves to wear his "listening ears" (headphones) in the car as we drive.  Notice he is also wearing his Mickey Mouse Halloween Tshirt...in January.  He's in denial that the holidays are over :)

Look who's walking even more!! The trick was to train him with m&m's..haha! He'd do anything for a single m&m!!

My favorite part of this Sunday was right as we were packing things up to go home.  Mom asked Bob and I if we wanted a cappuccino.  We said yes and Braxton chimed in "Grandma! I want a cappuccino too!" My mom, being the super sweet Grandma that she is made Braxton his very own cappuccino (warm chocolate milk).  Braxton sat on Bob's lap and drank his cappuccino like such an adult.  It was the funniest, sweetest, most precious thing, EVER!

Right as I was getting ready to take a picture he crosses his legs and held his cup.  He must have said the word cappuccino a thousand times that evening.  What a darling memory!

Oh my goodness.  I just LOVE him!

Good morning!! Time to start the day!!

The boys are up and snuggling watching a quick episode of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse in our bed.

Today Brenton and I are headed to lunch with one of the best - Jessica! It's chilly out today so he's wearing his awesome jacket Uncle Matty and Aunt Emily got him for his birthday.  A better pic of the jacket to come.

Snoozin' on the way to lunch. I just looooove a sleepy baby.  He just looks so warm and cozy. Love!

...COOLEST JACKET EVER! So adorable!

Braxton has his awesome jacket on too! He never wants to take his "hat" off when he's wearing it.  It stays on the entire day at school.  This is us coming home from school. Such a sweet little guy  dinosaur!

The boys built a tower while I cooked dinner.

Then waited patiently for daddy to come home.  They get so excited to see his car pull up. I love Brenton's toes in this picture.  He's stretches so tall so he has a good view too like his big brother.

Our silly, happy boys!

Happy Saturday!!!

I love Saturday mornings with the boys. It's so much fun to get up and not race around getting everyone out the door for work, school, doctors appointments, etc.  We usually just relax and stay in our PJs for a good portion of the morning.

Brenton has discovered yet another place to climb into.  He's fearless!

I was in the bathroom with Braxton and came out to THIS.  Perhaps he heard me say I had to do the dishes? Yes, maybe he was just trying to help me.  Fearless, I tell ya!

Out of all the places the boys could go play...this morning they chose the bathroom.  They are two peas in a pod!

While Brenton napped Braxton moved the dining room chairs into a line so we could play train.  He handed me these sunglasses (that Uncle Matty J. left at our house) and said "drive the train mommy!!!" So, here we are...on our train! :)

]
We counted goldfish and made shapes out of them.

Then, we made a Michigan sign for Daddy.  Michigan is still having an AWESOME basketball season! #2 this week and looks like they will be #1 next week! Woohoo! Go Blue!

Braxton reading on his train.

Then we built a super long choochoo train!

The boys played in their Lightning McQueen tent

Brenton attempted to use a spoon for the first time.  He loves to hold the spoon and place it in the bowl.  His hand to mouth coordination is not quite there yet - but it will be soon! He's almost got it! A few cheerios made it in his mouth with each bite.

He decided to take a break from the spoon and go with his tried and true method.  Yogurt and cheerios make quite the mess...but it's so fun to watch him learn!

Our friends, Max and Kate, came over this evening for dinner.  Braxton had a blast playing with them and we had a blast chatting and catching up after the kiddos when to bed. :)

January 17, 2013

For the first time in my life as a mommy....I had to deal with throw up outside of our house, in a public place.  Brenton and I made a quick run to Costco to grab some chicken and other necessitates. While in the cart he pushed his finger all the way to the back of his mouth and gagged himself.  It was a mess.  All over me, all over the floor....all over the entire cart of groceries.  Thankfully I had just put a brand new pack of baby wipes in my bag. I was so frustrated and embarrassed.  Mostly because I really had never come up with a game plan of what to do when my child pukes in public.  My typical game plan is to NOT go to the store if they are sick....well, I could have never predicted that this little monkey would gag himself. The even had to close the aisle down and bring out one of those big automatic floor cleaning/sanitizing machines. Ay yi yi. But..then I looked up and saw this face.....

and really, how could I be frustrated with THAT FACE?! Oh my goodness. It was quite an experience.  We were both a mess. I did my best to clean us up enough to just check out and get the heck out of there. The good news is 1. he wasn't sick, woohoo! and 2. I now know how to handle myself in that particular situation should it ever happen again! :)

Brenton is getting so much better with his walking! Braxton likes to chase him :) Sorry the pics are blurry...these two are always on the move...they are even a blur in real life! Haha!

Big boys!

January 16, 2013

It's Wednesday!!!! I love love love my Wednesday's with the boys. Ever since Braxton was born we have had a standing lunch date/play date with the sweetest of friends.  It such a great day for all of us.  I love to chit chat and catch up with Mandy, and Braxton can't get enough of sweet little Brydon and Audrey.  Brenton sits in amazement as the kiddos play -- soon, very soon, he will be able to run around and join them (too soon for this momma...isn't he only a couple months old?!).  I still remember carrying Braxton into our lunches in his infant carseat. Now, at almost three years old, it's amazing how many memories we have made.  After lunch we always try to pop in and see Grandma and Grandpa.  Braxton reminds me approximately 1,476 times after lunch that we need to go see them.  The kids have so much fun at their house.  Watching them play reminds me so much of my childhood and all the amazing memories I made in that very same house.  Such a blessing to watch my kids do the exact same things I did at their age.  See....Wednesdays truly ARE very special days in our house.
The boys enjoyed a yummy breakfast of cereal, yogurt and fruit.  Lately, Braxton has insisted that Brenton's chair be directly next to his.  I love how close these two are. Best of friends.  Warms my heart to pieces.

After breakfast Brenton took his snooze.  While I was getting ready for our day, Braxton kept himself busy playing in the bonus room.  When I came in to check on him this is what I found.  He had emptied all of his toy bins and lined them up - he then placed Brenton's Mickey Mouse car on the back and began driving his "train." His imagination is so amazing.  I never know what he's going to come up with next.  I am so blessed to have such a sweet, funny, smart little boy with an imagination that is out of this world! :)

Everyone is loaded up and headed to Chick-Fil-A!

So precious.  Brydon was reading a book to his buddy, Braxton.

Then, it was time to be airplanes.

Zoom! Boys and their imaginations.  There just isn't anything else like it! I could watch them play all day.

Visiting Great Grandma and Great Grandpa and eating our most favorite snack - Grandma's Mix!!

As you can see - the boys LOVE Grandma's mix.  We did everything to get them to look but they just couldn't be bothered.  They were on a mission to pull out each and every m&m in the mix! So funny! :)

They were beat from their super fun Wednesday. They both caught a quick snooze on the way to Grandma's house.

Sweet, sweet sleeping faces.  Love them so much.

While mom and I worked on invitations for Grandma and Grandpa's 60th anniversary party, the boys worked on their tool bench.

Then Brenton and I took a minute to take a silly cheesy grin picture.  He's so funny! :)

Well, that's a wrap! Can't wait til next Wednesday!!
